Statement of Faith

Triune God We believe in one God, eternally existing in three equally divine Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This one true and living God is infinitely perfect in love and holiness, the Creator of all things, visible and invisible, and worthy of all glory and adoration. He is immortal and eternal, knowing all things from beginning to end, sustaining and sovereignly ruling over all, and bringing about His eternal good purposes to redeem a people for Himself and restore His fallen creation. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14) Revelation God has revealed Himself in the created order and supremely in His Son, Jesus Christ. The Scriptures, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, are the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God, revealing His will for salvation and guiding believers in faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21) Creation of Humanity God created human beings, male and female, in His own image. Adam and Eve were made to complement each other in a one-flesh union, establishing the normative pattern for sexual relations and reflecting the relationship between Christ and the Church. Both men and women are called to serve God in all areas of life, with distinctive roles that reflect Christ's relationship with the Church. (Genesis 1:26-28; Ephesians 5:22-33) The Fall Adam's fall into sin resulted in the corruption of all human beings, alienating us from God and condemning us to death apart from His grace. The supreme need of humanity is reconciliation with God through the undeserved love and intervention of Christ. (Romans 3:23; 5:12-21) The Plan of God From eternity, God purposed to save a multitude of sinners from every nation through Jesus Christ. By grace, He justifies and sanctifies those who have faith in Jesus and will one day glorify them, all to the praise of His glorious grace. (Ephesians 1:3-14; Revelation 7:9-10) The Gospel The gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ, centered on His death and resurrection. It is the power of God for salvation to all who believe, revealing God's wisdom and saving work in Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 1:16-17) The Redemption of Christ Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the dead. His work on the cross canceled sin and reconciled believers to God. He ascended into heaven and reigns as our High Priest and Advocate. (John 1:14; 1 Peter 2:24; Hebrews 4:14-16) The Justification of Sinners Through Christ's obedience and sacrifice, believers are justified by faith alone. This justification is by grace, highlighting God's justice and mercy. (Romans 3:21-26; Galatians 2:16) The Power of the Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit applies the work of salvation to believers, convicting of sin, regenerating, sanctifying, and empowering them for Christ-like living and service. He indwells believers, guiding and equipping them for God's purposes. (John 14:16-17; Romans 8:9-11) The Kingdom of God Believers enter the kingdom of God through faith in Christ, experiencing the blessings of the new covenant and anticipating future glory. Good works are evidence of saving grace. The kingdom of God is present and growing, bringing renewal and transformation. (Mark 1:15; Romans 14:17) God’s New People The church is the body of Christ, manifesting God's presence and fulfilling His mission. It is marked by the gospel, sacred ordinances, discipline, mission, and love for God and others. The church reflects the unity and diversity of God's people. (Ephesians 2:19-22; 1 Peter 2:9-10) Baptism and the Lord’s Supper Baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordained by Jesus. Baptism signifies entrance into the covenant community, and the Lord's Supper is a covenant renewal, proclaiming Christ's death and anticipating His return. (Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26) The Restoration of All Things We believe in the personal, glorious return of Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead. The just will be resurrected to eternal life, and the unjust to eternal punishment. God will renew all creation, and His people will dwell with Him forever. (Revelation 21:1-5; Matthew 25:31-46)
